Whats the coolest, most collectable non-US built car from the late 60s - late 80s? Question: Im in a country with few USA vehicles, but plenty of european, japanese and australian ones. US opinions count big time though. pls answer! Points will be decided by public vote. Answer: Coolest and most collectible? 1965 Toyota 2000GT. Good luck finding one. http://www.toyota.co.jp/Museum/data_e/a03_11_1.html 2n d choice. Ferrari GTO. These can be had. At a relatively recent auction, one was bid up to $7,000,000. The owner pulled it back, too low a price for him. Ferrari made 39 of them. It's in second place because, even though they made 337 of them, the Toyota is cooler because it's not so famous. http://web-cars.com/gto/ferrari_index.php Did you mean to include available and/or affordable? |

Does anyone know where I can find values to some collectible US Currency at? Question: I collect coins and I came across some bills that, I believe, may be of value. Is there anywhere I can find out? Answer: Amazon.com:numismatics is a chat room I think where you can discuss them and send images to numismatics (The study of money) experts. You can contact coin dealers in your area for appraisals but use more than one or you may get the only crook of the lot the first try. Good luck. P.S. If this works out and they turn out to be really, really valuable I'll contact you about my fee. |

I have a 1953A $2 US bill & was told that the bill is obsolete & collectable. Is it useable or not as money? Question: The older bills have 'United States Note' on them and the current bills have 'Federal Reserve Note' on them. Does this mean it is only good for a currency collection? I am not from the US so I don't know the answer. Answer: The bill is old and it is authentic. It is currency you can use anywhere in the US or exchange. It is not (nor is any other US currency) ever outdated or invalid for use. The particular bill you have is really not valuable unless it was completely crisp and uncirculated (brand new) and even then it's practical value isn't worth much more the the $2.00 note. Silver and gold certificates from the early to mid-20th century have the most value. |

are you US debts collectable in Canada? Question: are unsecured debts in the USA collectable in Canada Answer: It depends on the type of debt. There are trade agreements between US and Canada that may allow for collection effort across the borders, especially if the company has office in both places. No matter where you are they can certainly report to the credit bureaus. That will follow you all over the world. |

I want to send a parcel from the US to China with some collectibles I have bought. Are Chinese customs strict? Question: I have bought some things in the US, mainly movie collectibles, and I would like to ship them to China. Can there be problems with Chinese customs, or it is not a problem to ship products to China? Answer: I agree with the previous answer. It also depends on How you send them and how they are described on the customs form which you must complete to accompany the shipment. If you declare a big value it will get more scrutiny. If you send post it goes through a different clearance process than a carrier such as DHL or UPS. ALong with the description of the goods, I label all my packages "for the personal use of resident foreign expert", which as a teacher is what I am, and they seem to sail through. It's all in the description whether it raises a level of interest. I did loose one package in the post 6 years ago. I foolishly packaged some nice clothing ALONG WITH THE RELATED JEWELRY and it never made it. I don't think the clothes would have caused a problem, but I suspect that the package was x-rayed and the jewelry, which was not valuable, showed up and someone snatched it. |

How much extra metal is used to create collectible quarters by the US Mint and what motivated them to do it? Question: Collector coins use copper and other metals which are expensive right now. It seems wasteful to me to encourage people to "collect " little bits of metal which can serve no further use. If it was a private enterprise encouraging collection, like the guy who invented pet rocks, I could understand the profit motive, and never mind the stupidity of it. But why would the Mint want coins removed from circulation? It seems contrary to the purpose of a Mint- to provide coins for circulation at the best price for the taxpayers ...and a waste of natural resources Answer: The short answer to your question is because the coins they intend for collectors are sold at a price above face value. For example, the 2007 State Quarters Proof Set is currently list priced on the U.S. Mint website at $13.95 for the copper-nickel set and $25.95 for the silver quarters. Similarly, two rolls of state quarters (uncirculated) sell for $32.95. By encouraging people to buy these items, the Mint hopes to turn them into collectors who will then buy more coins from the Mint at a premium above the face value. Regarding the cost of the coins themselves, all the coins currently cost less to produce than their face value, according to the 2004 report of the U.S. Mint, though the margin on nickels and pennies is 10% or less. Okay, so that wasn't such a short answer. My apologies. |

where to find cheap collectable barbie dolls? Question: i want to start a barbie doll collection. And i want the old original barbie dolls. So i looked at toys r us, and they were expensive! so does anyone know where i can find good quality but cheap, original collectable barbie dolls? Answer: That's the point of collectible Barbie dolls; they start off expensive and increase in value the longer you leave them in their boxes on a shelf. If you're lucky, you might be able to find some on eBay or a garage sale, if people don't realise their value. |
