Why would you need 100 amp to buy a house? You'll want 100 amp to run everything you want, such as AC, but you're not required to unless the bank states this as part of a mortgage package. |

Water-proofing an amp without over-heating? Question: Putting a new sound system in a Jeep Wrangler. The speakers are all Marine-Rated just in case it starts raining while I have the top down. They are Polk Audio MM series components so I want a good amp to push them! Of course a Polk Audio PA500.4 amp would be the obvious choice however none of their amps are Marine-Rated. If I were to build a water-proof case to put the amp in, how would I keep the amp from over-heating? If I kept the amp shielded from direct water contact and just used fans to circulate air inside the case would there still be too much moisture in the air during rainfall? Enough to damage an amp? My plan B is to get a Poly-Planar ME-400 amp which is Marine-Rated to begin with and the specifications are perfect.. on paper. I have no idea how the quality of this brand is however, or if the amp will actually live up to the specifications stated by the manufacturer! Yeah I checked out the Kicker's but none of their marine amps are pumping out enough RMS watts for my liking. Answer: Kicker makes some affordable marine amps that are sealed. Search on ebay. You would have to make some sort of fan system to prevent overheating. Perhaps fans on the bottom of the case so rain really couldnt get in. |

I need an idiot proof guide to wiring an amp and 2 subwoofers in a car. I have an Isuzu Rodeo if this helps.? Question: I went to my local car audio store (we have just one in the entire town) and they were wanting to charge me close to 150 to wire everything. I've heard it's pretty easy in the big scheme of things and I really don't have 150 dollars to be throwing around when I could just do it myself if I knew how. I know this is annoying but I just need a step-by-step guide to this without any big words or system lingo (if that is at all possible). I have pretty much everything I need because it all came in a kit, I just need to know how to hook it up. Thanks a bunch! proof of claim towards Amp'd mobile? Question: Amp'd phones owes me rebate and unpaid minutes. They sent me a proof of claim form but I have no idea how to fill it out. They said you could get a attorney but If I did that I wouldnt get any money back it would be all to the attorney. Anyhow the question is what do I fill out for basis for claim, is is a secured claim unsecured priorty claim , unsecured non-priority? Does a 12VDC brushed motor (5 amp / 60W) need to have UL listing to be sold in USA? Question: Not a hazardous location, not explosion proof required. This would just be a 12VDC brushed motor with a two foot, two wire cable that connects to 12VDC. Answer: IF it is not a hazardous location and require explosion proof fits then no, it does not need to be certified by UL. I have a few sitting at my feet now with no tags. |

I have an Amp'd question? What to do? Question: I heard that amp'd mobile went bankrupt. I have received a letter saying something about filing proofs of claim against the estate. That proof of claim must be filed so that they are actually received. I'm not so sure what that is.. can anyone help me? Like what is it for or what do I do? Or has anyone else received it? Thank You Answer: No but I can guess its part of a class action lawsuit... if you read it.. it will probably tell you what its for and what you will get. It could be something like a $5 credit on your next bill.. Or if is a bankruptcy.. you might need to make a claim for something like if you made a deposit and you want back.. then you might be able to get a portion of it back if you file a claim. |

What amp should i get? Question: getting new amp tomorrow, i've only been playing for 3 months but want something that will work live as i want it future proof and have lots of effects so i don't need to splash out too much on pedals in the future, any suggestions? I have looked at the fender but I am not a huge fan of the tones and find it a bit limited for punk and metal tones I haven't looked much into the Mustang series, i may take a look, how do they compare to spiders and such? Answer: Look into the Fender Mustang series. It's a modeling amp so it has a huge range of tones as it accurately imitates iconic amps, and has a lot of built in effects like chorus, flanger, overdrive, compression, touch wah etc. There are 5 in the series, the more expensive ones have a few more features but the main difference is that the power increases with the price, so you will be able to get one that suits your needs. You can play literally any style with them. I have a pretty decent knowledge of guitar gear and would highly recommend the Mustang series as practice amps and for performances in small to medium sized venues. |

Can I call the cops to help me get my stuff back? Question: I lent an old friend of mine a 250$ amp. Now he dosent want to return it to me and refuses to give it to me when I go to his house. I don't owe him anything or have anything thats his he's just doing it to be an asshole. Could I call a police unit to help me retrive my amp if I show them proof that its mine and that I bought it? Answer: I have been to a lot of these calls and here are the two possible scenarios that will happen: 1. Officers get there and your friend admits the amp is yours, and gives it back not wanting trouble. 2. Officers get there and friend says the amp is his because: you gave it to him...he bought it from you...you guys traded items for it...you owe him rent money and he is keeping it for collateral...etc Most of the time #2 happens (yeah that's right sh@t happens) and you have to go to small claims court to claim your property. Your amp was $250 new, so roughly worth $50 used. How much time and effort is it worth to take him to small claims court for it? |

I am going to buy a shed to turn into a mini studio, how could I sound proof it? Question: I heard that putting foam around the walls would work, and maybe carpet, but is there any other way to sound proof it any more? Am planning to put drum kit, guitar+amp in there...
