Don Larson's perfect game was in 1956 - (55 years) sorry about that! Answer: People have come close to Ted William's mark of being the last to hit .400, but no one has come 10 games close of DiMaggio's streak. The closest to have reach his mark since he did it in 1941 was Pete Rose with a 44-game hitting streak, a far 12 game streak from DiMaggio's great feat. Lineup ~ 1 ~ Joe DiMaggio's 1941 record breaking 56-game hitting streak 2 ~ Ted William's 1941 .406 batting average, becoming the last person to hit .400 3 ~ Don Larsen's 1951 World Series perfect game, the 1st ever perfect game in postseason history. 4 ~ Roger Maris's record breaking 61-home run 1961 season 5 ~ Bobby Thompson's 1951 game-winning 'Shot Heard 'Round The World' |

Did Prescott Bush's Nazi Business Continued Until 1951 ? Question: Investigative reporter John Buchanan broke 60 years of silence recently when he uncovered documents showing Prescott Bush's business was seized by Congress in 1942 for trading with the enemy. Now Buchanan has gone even further, documenting Prescott's role in many more Nazi-related businesses as late as 1951. "[Democrats.com co-founder Bob] Fertik and others, including former Justice Department Nazi war crimes prosecutor John Loftus... believe Prescott Bush and the Harrimans should have been tried for treason. Now, say Fertik and Loftus, there should be a Congressional investigation into the Bush family's Nazi past and its concealment from the American people for 60 years. 'The American people have a right to know, in detail, about this hidden chapter of our history,' I am looking for answers with intelligence. The best answer will be chosen. Answer: John Buchanan, Bob Fertik, and John Loftus are interesting characters, but hardly level headed journalists. The fastest way to catch a rising star in this country is to find some dirt on President Bush. That will get you on "The Daily Show", Bill Maher show, or Keith Olbermann as fast as you can call President Bush a closet homo. How can one answer you question with intellegence when your premise is wrong and WHO CARES about what Prescott Bush did sixty years ago. There are lots of Americans who had ties with German companies during the time of Hitler. That does not make them Nazis. |

Brentford Football shirt 1951? Question: I want to buy my stepdad a Brentford football shirt for his 60th birthday, he was born in 1951 so ideally would like a shirt from that year. I cant find one on the internet. Only from 1948-9. Does anyone know where I can find a 51 shirt if there was one, or was it that the club didnt have a new shirt that year and were using one from 194?. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I want his present to be extra special this year. Thank you in advance Answer: Check the Brentford FC website. If not a store in Brentford may sell them. They're a small team and that's an old shirt you're looking for. It will be hard to find. |

Next week's HOF Veterans Committee Executives ballot -- comments? Question: Next Monday, 03-Dec, the Hall Of Fame will announce the results of the upcoming Veterans Committee Executives ballot. This is the other of the first two ballots under the newly revised VC, which the Hall announced in July following the third straight shutout by the old VC in February. This ballot is limited to ten candidates. As many of these names may be unfamiliar, their primary role is indicated: Executives Buzzie Bavasi (Dodgers GM, 1950-68) Barney Dreyfuss (Pirates owner, 1900-32) John Fetzer (Tigers owner, 1961-83) Bob Howsam (Reds GM, 1967-78 & '83-84) Ewing Kauffman (Royals owner, 1969-93) Bowie Kuhn (Commissioner of Baseball, 1968-84) John McHale (Braves GM 1959-66, Expos GM 1978-84, Expos president 1969-84) Marvin Miller (director of the players union, 1966-84) Walter O'Malley (Dodgers owner, 1950-late 70s) Gabe Paul (Reds GM 1951-60, Indians GM 1961-69 & '71-72, Yankees GM/president 1973-78) Please limit yourself to no more than four votes, just like the real electors. Answer: Miller. That's it. Too many executives, owners, and commissioners get in as the "gold watch" for hanging around. I really can't see any of these other guys as worthy. |

Who wrote this quote in 1951 and in your opinion, is this what we're seeing today? Question: The American People will take Socialism, but they won't take the label. I certainly proved it in the case of EPIC. Running on the Socialist ticket I got 60,000 votes, and running on the slogan to "End Poverty in California" I got 879,000. I think we simply have to recognize the fact that our enemies have succeeded in spreading the Big Lie. There is no use attacking it by a front attack, it is much better to out-flank them. It is claimed that the same person may have written this quote as well (although it's been accredited to Norman Thomas: "The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened." Answer: I will add to the unanimous opinion Upton Sinclair, Your staging of this question was extremely well written. And I congratulate you on your ability to show the signs of this axis of terror. Socialism in most parts is an act of domestic terrorism. and should be confronted in that manner. Obama can say he is not a Socialist all he wants, But he is the champion for the basis of what Sinclair warned us about, Just because Obama does not ride the socialist Horse, Does not mean he is not the forerunner for its purposes. |

Answer: Hiya Friends Reunited is favourite, they make it easier to list, showing if there are 'groups' for any (or all) and listing names and profiles. You can also put in an individual search for a name and they will show every person they have with that, or similar, name they have listed...gets a bit daunting if looking for Fred Smith tho........... |

Will 9/11 be remembered more, less, or the same as the attack on Pearl Harbor 60 years from now? Question: Almost 10 years since 9/11, it's still fresh in everyone's mind. But presumably, in 1951 the attack on Pearl Harbor was fresh in everyone's mind. So will 9/11 be remembered more than Pearl Harbor? Why? Is it because of more media coverage? The number of casualties in each attack are not much different from each other. Texas, you make a good point. But since 60 years from now will be more than 100 years since Pearl Harbor..obviously at the time 9/11 will be proportionately remembered, if that makes sense. But more to the point will 9/11 be remembered as well then as Pearl Harbor is now. And I would have to agree with you that 9/11 will overshadow it. It's a good point considering the Japanese attacked the military in an act of war, and terrorists attacked civilians in an act of terrorism (which I suppose you can say is also an act of war). Answer: Not if Obama has his way. It would be inflammatory and offensive to the Muslim community to remind them of what they did 50 years from now, and liberals would relegate it to the back burner. Probably take it out of the history books. That's what liberals do, they rewrite history. |
