Postage Stamps?? Question: Hi there, I've just found some really old British postage stamps whilst having a clear out at work. They're red, with a very young Queen Elizabeth II on them. Underneath the picture it says "Postage Revenue" and the price on them is 2 1/2 D. Can anyone tell me anything about them? How old are they? Are they worth collecting?? Answer: It may not be a postage stamp at all.. possibly it's a tax revenue stamp, there is an example on the page below and some info. As to how collectible the item is, I'd say it's worth collecting. It's probably quite old and may be of value to someone. Back then, people didn't save stuff like that, so it increases it's rarity. How to make hand-made postage stamps like in Griffin and Sabine? Question: I'd like to make my own fictional postage stamps for a fictional country, like in Nick Bantock's Griffin and Sabine. Drawing the picture in the stamp is the easy part, but I have no idea how to duplicate the characteristic postage stamp perforations. I'd like to make it look as authentic as possible. It's going to be on real paper so something that only works on a computer screen won't help much. Any ideas? Answer: Craft stores like Hobby Lobby and Michaels sell Fiskars scissors. Answer: According Your question, I think You are talking about used postage stamp, that are still affixed to paper/cover/envelop - and according my experience, it is better to remove it from paper, and store to album. I saw many times that still affixed stamp, on cover, receive rust, acid, and other "natural" damage caused by glue and paper components (color, glue, chalk etc) - yes - sometimes is better to keep it on cover, if it is an valued cancel, or valued cover alone - for that case You have many accessories on market.
